有些諺語(yǔ)和習(xí)語(yǔ)在漢語(yǔ)中有相應(yīng)的說(shuō)法：
Barking dogs do not bite.吠犬不咬人
The best fish swim near bottom.好魚(yú)居深淵
To kill two birds with one stone.一石二鳥(niǎo)
To ride the tiger.騎虎難下
To shed crocodile tears.掉鱷魚(yú)眼淚
漢語(yǔ)中若沒(méi)有與英語(yǔ)相同的諺語(yǔ)和習(xí)語(yǔ)，但與漢語(yǔ)中有關(guān)其它動(dòng)物相近或類似的說(shuō)法：
Dog doesn't eat dog.虎毒不食子
If the shepherds quarrel,the wolf has a winning game.鷸蚌相爭(zhēng)，漁翁得利
